I just wanted to post a quick note to wish everyone a very happy new year! I know 2016 was really tough for a lot of people in a lot of ways, and I’m sure we’re all anxiously looking forward to what its successor has in store.
As for this blog, I’m excited to keep it moving forward and continuing to build it as a freely available resource that writers can refer to in order to better educate themselves about the nuts and bolts of the business behind their creative endeavors.
In case you missed some of my earlier posts during the holiday chaos, here they are in one handy place for your reference:
- Intellectual property
- Script sale breakdown
- Non-guild deals
- Conditions precedent
- Basic definitions
- Writers Guild of America
- Submission releases
- Power dynamics
- Finally stepping into the last decade
For the first part of 2017, my goal is to continue to put out blog posts like these so that the site develops into a robust repository of business information that can be searched, categorized, and shared with others who may find it useful. After that, I’m planning on addressing specific reader questions and industry current events as well.
I’ll be back in a few days with another informational post. My goal is to post at least twice a week for the next several months, or more often if and when it works with my schedule.
Until next time… Happy New Year, one and all!
